It’s better when I don’t have Doctor Who playing in my ears when I’m trying to write. Not that there is anything wrong with Doctor Who. I just can’t properly write if there are other people’s words running through my brain. I need to hear the sound of my own words. While I have been able to do both, I think I must have really been crazy spinning to have needed the external sound track in order to slow down my brain enough to pull the words out of the swarm that told the one story. Today, the swarms, the brooks, the rivers, the waves, the wind, the birdsong, are coming in movements of a symphony and I can pick out the discrete sound of the oboe the clarinet the violin the timpani, like when I zero in on the show’s theme music.
